In a constant effort to share health messages on subjects that are relevant to the health of the population, here is some information on food allergies.

Current estimates are that food allergies affect as many as 5% to 6% of young children and 3% to 4% of adults in westernized countries.
Peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, soy, seafood, wheat, eggs, milk, mustard and sulphites are the food allergens most commonly associated with severe allergic reactions in Canada.
