The Temiscaming Royals inaugural season in the Greater Metro Junior A hockey League came to an abrupt end on this snowy evening in Innisfil, as the Lakers completely dominated and ended up at the winning end of an 11-4 score over the visiting Royals.
The Lakers scored early and often and had a 6-0 lead before the dust settled. The second period saw the Lakers outscore the Royals 3-1. Things slowed down a bit in the third period with only five goals with the visitors getting three of them.
Goal scorers for the Lakers were: Anton Holm and Jonathan Dew each with a hat trick, singles went to Nikkanen, Grainger, Pouliot, Sitzer and Arvastsson. Guillaume Brisebois, Alex Brazeau, Rylan Henley(by the way was celebrating his 18th birthday) and Cory Marquardt countered for the Royals.
Matt Treadwell took the victory while Guillaume Piche and Francis Bernard shared the loss.
Shots on goal were 38-32 Lakers.
The Innisfil Lakers will now face the Bradford Rattlers, defending league champions.
