Major water and storm sewer infrastructure works for the sector of Letang
Temiscaming, July 30, 2007. The Town of Temiscaming wishes to inform the population that major works will be carried out in the sector of Letang. Works are scheduled to begin around the end of August and should be finished in November. They will consist in replacing the existing water main that will then be connected to a new water filtration plant to be constructed on the North shore of Gordon Creek at the exit of the bridge on Montée Letang. Also, new storm sewer conduits will be installed on part of des Chênes St. and Kipawa Road.
The work, estimated at around one million dollars, has been entrusted to Morin and Luneau Construction of Val d’Or under the contracting authority of the engineering firm Genivar of Amos.
The persons that will directly be affected by the excavation work will be informed shortly.
The municipality also wishes to inform the residents of the Letang sector that there may be temporary water interruptions, lower water pressure or a light colouration of the water during the work. It is also possible that notices to boil the water will be given through the local media.
The work, once completed, will greatly improve the water distribution system for all the citizens of Temiscaming and the Letang sector. We are aware of the inconveniences that this work will cause and thank you for your comprehension.
