Temiscaming, January 13th 2008. The South Temiscamingue Recovery Committee is pleased to announce its support for the Temiscaming Royals Jr. A Hockey Club
The South Temiscamingue Recovery Committee has, amongst other things the mission to promote the economic diversification in the region and to identify projects which are susceptible to obtain support from government agencies. As a result, these projects can progress more rapidly and have a positive impact on the development of our region. The committee is made up of representatives from the two municipalities, from the Algonquin communities of Eagle Village and Wolf Lake Band, from government, industries and Chamber of Commerce representatives.
It is undeniable that the establishment of the Royals Hockey club had a positive impact for the economy and community life in our region. The presence of the Royals in Temiscaming will also allow, in the future, the Temiscaming and Kipawa areas to develop a larger exposure to the Southern Ontario touristic and entrepreneurial markets.
In conclusion, it is with pleasure that the South Temiscamingue Economic Recovery Committee is announcing today financial support of $10,000. to the Temiscaming Royals Junior A Hockey Club.
We want to acknowledge the efforts of all those involved in getting this Club established and are wishing long life to the Royals in Temiscaming.
