Winners of the Before and After Contest

Témiscaming- October 1st, 2009 - The draw to determine the two winners of the Town of Temiscaming’s Before and After Beautification Contest was determined in a draw held during the October 1st council meeting. Nine participants were registered for the contest which was created to encourage citizens to pursue their efforts to improve the appearance of their properties. Photos of the properties AFTER the improvements are on display at the entrance of the Centre.
The winners are Nancy Demers and Madeleine & Robert Lemieux. Mrs. Demers, who lives at 136, ch. lac Tee created a new landscaping composed of a curb and shrubs. She won a 450$ gift certificate from Matériaux Jolette Home Hardware Renovation Centre. Madeleine & Robert Lemieux, who reside at 66, Byrne St. installed new windows and stucco. They won a 450$ gift certificate from Ross Electric Home Hardware.
The Town of Temiscaming would like to thank these businesses for contributing to the contest. Each gave 200$ towards the gift certificates. We would also like to thank all the participants for taking the time to register: Majella Raymond, Cindy Bernard, Jean-Guy Arbour, Joëlle Carpentier & Jean Major, Hélène Courville, Nancy Gagnon, Joyce & Richard Pigeon. All these citizens have contributed to the beautification of our town.
The contest will be back in 2010, and it will be launched during the month of April to allow citizens to prepare well in advance.
