Residual Matters

Local Ecocentre

Témiscaming's Ecocentre was set up following the closure of the municipal dump.  The Ecocentre is a place where we sort materials that cannot be picked-up through the door-to-door collection and is then sent to recycling centers.

Containers and residual waste collection bins are set-up at the local Ecocentre in the industrial park at 201, rue du Parc industriel.  A guard, present during opening hours, will instruct the users where to put the items to make sure that the materials are well disposed of.

The Town of Témiscaming is proud to be a partner with the MRC of Témiscamingue for the development of this site in order to offer the service to non-organized territories (TNO) users.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
11:00 am to 5:00 pm

It does not cost anything for Témiscaming's citizens or for non-organized territories users, with a proof of residency, to dispose of their residual matters.  Other users and contractors will be billed as per the fixed rates.

Materials generally accepted:

  • Cumbersome items (furniture);
  • Recyclable matters (plastic, metal, glass, cardboard, paper);
  • Tires with no rims;
  • Commercial ($) and residential building materials;
  • Household Hazardous Waste;
  • Etc?

It is the citizen's responsibility to dispose of the materials they bring the right way and to maintain the area clean of all debris before they leave.  All materials must fit into the containers.

** Important **

Take note that treated wood (including railroad ties) is not accepted at the local ecocentre.  Therefore, it is the citizen's responsibility to dispose of them according to the current bylaw.
