HOCKEY TOURNAMENT | JANUARY 19-20-21, 2024

We are thrilled to report on the success of our recent hockey tournament this weekend. This event was much more than just a sporting competition; it was a brilliant celebration of the passion, talent and community spirit that unite us.

The participating teams delivered extraordinary performances, captivating spectators with their determination and skill on the ice. Many teams came from out of town (Kingston, Ste. Catherines, North Bay, Sudbury, Val d'Or and Hamilton). Each game was unique, creating exciting and memorable moments for all spectators.

The stands were filled with a contagious energy, demonstrating the love we have for this tournament, which we hope to organize every year. We are proud of the way our town came together to make this event so exceptional.

The final of the tournament was played on Sunday in front of a large crowd. The mixed category final featured RYAM and Laura's Bunch. Laura's Bunch won the double overtime shoot-out. The open category final was played between Team KP and 2 Girls 1 Puck. Team KP won. The "40 and over" category was won by Team Nordiques.

The "40 and over" category was added to the tournament in memory of Denis Desjardins, a Temiscaming resident. The three winning teams in Sunday's final were presented with a trophy in his honour.

The Saturday evening dance was a great success. We would like to thank all those who helped organize this event.

Finally, we would like to thank all the participating teams, Centre employees and spectators who helped make the tournament a great success. Together, we created some memorable moments that everyone will treasure forever.
