DAY CAMP ACTIVITY | DRAWINGS
Last week, the Day Camp animators asked the kids to draw a picture of where the water comes from when they turn on the tap.

In reality, the water that flows from our tap comes from the water treatment plant. The treatment plant in our town draws water from the Gordon Creek, at the entrance of the town near the 101 highway bridge.
This water often contains dirt, bacteria, and other substances that make it unsuitable for consumption. The job of the treatment plant is to clean this water. First, it goes through filters that catch large pieces and particles. Then, it is disinfected to kill bacteria and germs that could make people sick.
Sometimes, chemicals are also added to ensure that the water is safe to drink and has a pleasant taste. When it is ready for consumption, it is transported through underground pipes to our homes.
Your water is our water.
